Freies Gymnasium Zürich attaches great importance to the care and supervision of its students. This includes providing both healthy nutrition in the school’s own canteen and supervision by teachers at lunch times.

Healthy meals in the school canteen

For our youngest pupils, those from the preparatory classes, the first classes of the Progymnasium and the lower school of the Gymnasium, purchasing lunch in the school canteen is obligatory as part of the day school structure. The canteen is managed and run by the gastronomy group ZFV. Mothers and fathers help out at lunchtime on a voluntary basis, which over the years has proven to be a valuable meeting and contact opportunity for students, teachers and parents alike.

Students can choose from two menus and a salad buffet.

In the 10am break, drinks, bakery goods and kiosk snacks are also available.

The opening hours of the canteen are as follows: Monday – Friday, 8am - 2pm

Pronto: lunchtime supervision

Freies Gymnasium Zürich provides supervision during the lunch break. Selected teachers supervise students during the time that they are free, providing information and help where necessary.
