Upper school of the Gymnasium
The monolingual upper school of the Gymnasium lasts four years and follows the first two years of lower school of the Gymnasium, or class 2 or 3 of Progymnasium or secondary level.
The aim of the upper school of the Gymnasium is to “provide students with fundamental knowledge with a view to lifelong learning and to promote their intellectual openness and the ability to make independent judgements” (Art. 5 of the Maturitätsanerkennungsreglement) (regulations governing recognition of the Matura), thereby enabling them to access all universities.
